Lakefront Orange Cottage

Good affordable pet friendly stay Positive: The beach area and location. Pet friendly is nice too without fee. Owners were welcoming and friendly. Negative: Would have liked more/ better amenities offered for better comfort such as more & better air conditioner options and fans as the cabin was very hottt in the day time but then got very cold at night and couldn’t find extra blankets around. Would be a nice touch to offer some coffee and firewood even if it was for sale. Also super noisy at night with the highway right there and the shower ran out of hot water in 2 mins so had to take a cold shower unfortunately and there was no heater around either.

In a crazy world that offers zillions of travel destinations and hotel and Airbnb choices The Cottages at Harvey Lake remains our favorite. Each year, my brother and I pack up our car, our cares, and, of course, "Stellaaaaaa" my brother's tuxedo cat, and we make our trek to this bliss-filled lakeside nook in Northwood, NH. The Cottages at Harvey Lake offers sooo much. So very much. The full-length screened-in porches that adorn these small, colorful, no-pretense cottages overlook Harvey Lake and are the perfect place for morning joe! There are so many things to espy when one casts their eyes across Harvey Lake. So many things. My brother, Stella, and I each look forward to watching the fog as it quietly lifts off or the clouds as they picturesquely mirror on the lake. We look forward to spotting the loons or a mother duck with all her ducklings, a heron or a cardinal with fledgling, a raven, or a very large turtle when it bobs its head. We look forward to viewing Saddleback Mountain, which majestically looms large in the distance across the shore. Harvey Lake, with its colorful array of flora, fauna, and quaint, well-kempt homesteads that dot it's shoreline is, in and of itself, a feast for the eyes. The Cottages at Harvey Lake is a very peaceful place that wholeheartedly whispers," You will always find comfort here" and -- moreover -- fresh air, tranquility and, perhaps, yourself! There are fire pits for toasty evening gatherings and roasting marshmallow s'mores galore! There are gas grills for BBQing and picnic tables for serving up suppers with family and friends! There is a sandy beach area with lounge chairs for relaxing and sunning. There are life jackets, paddleboards, and kayaks that make safely enjoying the day -- literally -- "On The Lake" possible! There is television and internet -- clean beds and bathrooms/showers -- two burner stovetops and coffeemakers, etc. "The Cottages At Harvey Lake" has not only seven cozy, colorful small rental cottages but also a large beautiful house which can accommodate 13 guests and an amazing lakefront apartment rental too! There are numerous antique shoppes, breweries, restaurants, grocery stores in the immediate area and Concord, Exeter, Lee Raceway, and Portsmouth, NH are only a skip away! You can go anywhere from the Cottages At Harvey Lake but ---> You probably won't want too! The Owners and Hosts of The Cottages At Harvey Lake - Nancy and Lee Carver - and their family and staff are gracious, welcoming, available, and attentive -- They are truly unsurpassed! Kudos!
